Power Levels Summary

The different power levels are summarised below, with example screen dumps illustrating what a user with that power level can do.

Level 0: No Access

  • Cannot access any pages of the system.
  • For example, setting a user to this power level can be used to 'remove' a user from the system without actually deleting his/her record.

Level 1: View Only

  • View the comprehensive report for all programs and courses.
  • View the program outcomes summary, courses outcomes summary, course assessment methods summary and course information summary.
  • Request an email copy of the summary matrix.
  • Request an XML spreadsheet of the summary matrix.
  • Generate program outcomes summary chart.

Level 2: Edit Program Information

  • A user with this power level can perform all actions that are described above for power level 1, plus the following:
    • Edit the description for programs in the system.
    • Match the course to the program outcomes listed by the system, using a list of choices.
    • Add, delete or modify the program outcomes.
    • Add or delete courses and annotations of a specific program.
    • Copy or merge programs in the system.

Level 3: Edit Course Information

  • A user with this power level can perform all actions that are described above for power levels 1-2, plus the following:
    • Enter/edit the outcomes for any course by entering appropriate text, which can be formatted.
    • Enter/edit the assessment methods for any course by entering appropriate text, which can be formatted.
    • Trace who changed the course outcomes and assessment methods at what time.
    • Add courses to the system.
    • Edit course information.

Level 4: Administration

  • A user with this power level can perform all actions that are described above for power levels 1-3, plus the following:
    • Change the power level of any user in the system.
    • Add or delete any user from the system.
    • Add or delete any program from the system.
    • Change the system settings.
  • A user with this power level can also control which program(s) a user can access and edit.
  • A user with this power level can view all the changes taken place by all the PACOS users.
